(UPI) – A 52-year-old Florida woman admitted to pouring scalding water on her husband's groin after suspecting him of infidelity, police said.

Reports from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office allege that the woman confessed to becoming so enraged with her husband's alleged infidelity that she doused his groin with boiling water this week, The Bradenton (Fla.) Herald said Thursday.

Sheriff's reports alleged the attack on the 51-year-old man early Wednesday came after he failed to come home the night before.

Police arrested the woman and charged her with of aggravated battery, while her husband was taken to a hospital with second-degree burns. The injured man was listed in fair condition, the Herald said.
